POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for all activities pertaining to cleaning and maintenance of all food and beverage wares, kitchens, and service areas. The organization, sanitation and cost of operations is to be consistent with the overall Food & Beverage goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
- Greet each guest and provide superior guest service at for all COMPANY Food and Beverage operations.
- Must maintain pleasant and courteous attitude.
- Complete all opening and closing duties.
- Set tables with clean dishes, glasses and flatware in accordance with approved guest service procedures.
- Presents menu to guest, suggesting courses, appropriate drinks, and answering questions regarding food preparation.
- Explain dining style to guests and provide coursing recommendations.
- Offer drinks and take food and beverage order.
- Have extensive knowledge of wine, beer and cocktail menu.
- Serves meals to patrons according to established rules or etiquette, working in a family setting.
- Pace food courses appropriately to ensure the guest is never waiting on delivery.
- Check for quality after each course.
- Refill all drinks when needed.
- Remove all dirty dishes and glassware from the guest’s tables during and after each course and replace.
- Provide dessert service using designated tools and techniques.
- For alcoholic purchases- totals bill, presents check, collects settlement, and takes payment to cashier.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with culinary team.
- Transport dish cart to and from service station/stewards station.
- Assist culinary team with replenishment of dessert cart.
- Stock server stations with all necessary items and maintain cleanliness.
- Maintain the general cleanliness all public areas, including carpeted and tiled floors, furniture and waitress stations.
- Maintain clean table section, completely clearing, cleaning, and replenishing between each seating.
- Re-supplying provisions on guest tables, all venue areas and waitress stations, including backup glasses, silverware and dishes.
- Adhering to sanitation standards as outlined by Indiana State Law and COMPANY.
- Maximizing profit and guest satisfaction through effective costs controls.
- Adhere to all three-star standards.
- Work considerately with team members from all departments.
- Check out with manager before leaving at the end of your shift.
- Other departmental related duties and assignments as directed by management.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Attend seminars when needed.
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have two years of serving experience in a family or casual style dining environment.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), guest service and interpersonal skills.
- Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional demeanor.
- Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable dining experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
- Must successfully pass background check.
- Must successfully pass drug screening.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Casino Food & Beverage experience preferred.
- Table service procedures and table etiquette.
- Must have valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and IGC Badge when working.
ABILITY TO:
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Transport large banquet trays and/or plates throughout the restaurant.
- Must have the ability to withstand noisy and smoke-filled environments.
- Must be able to stand and walk 100% of shift.
