As a Sephora Account Manager (SAM), you will be responsible for maximizing sales and achieving company business objectives within the defined territory, ensuring excellence in selling, training/education, customer service, merchandising and operations. Reporting to the West Regional Sales Manager, the SAM will manage the retail business for Dermalogica within Sephora. This position will develop and build strong relationships with Sephora Field and Store Leadership to maintain excellent client service with their stores.
The territory will encompass Orange County, San Diego, and the Inland Empire. Ideal residency will be the Anaheim to Huntington Beach area cities.
What You'll Do
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales & Management
- Ensure assigned territory is exceeding sales targets, with responsibility for direct supervision and selling/education support of 35 plus doors to be visited on agreed upon schedule with manager. Create and execute event strategy to drive results – minimum of 4-5 store led events per month within territory. Corporate supported events to be hosted 3-4 times per year.
- Optimize in-store merchandising and brand presentation. Conduct regular inventory checks and elevate any issues to store leadership and corporate sales teams as needed.
- Monitor sales reports weekly to identify areas of opportunity and create strategic support plans based upon results.
- Meet regularly with store management teams to conduct Brand Business Review Meetings and plan strategically to deliver on defined results for retail objectives.
- Partner with Dermalogica Professional Skin Therapists (PST’s) to provide selling expertise and optimize scheduled support day.
Education
- Execute best in class Sales and Education visits, high-touch store and cast training, district-level cluster trainings, morning touch bases to increase Sephora cast love and selling skills.
- Host education programs designed to enhance sell through and growth of the retail business.
- Fully understand the retailer and Dermalogica launch and activation calendar to efficiently drive business, e.g. store events, Sephora Animations, seminars, trainings.
- Become a Dermalogica brand expert staying on-top of product knowledge and brand activities, delivering this expertise to all cast members and clients.
Virtual Support
- Responsible for virtual communication and support of limited remote door locations that are not in local territory.
- Travel to remote locations for in-person support to be agreed upon with manager, est. quarterly.
- Create communication tools.

- Establish “remote” relationships – becoming a reliable source of information and problem solving for the Sephora team.
- Track retail sales (and services if applicable) using defined metrics to evaluate the business
- Timely return of all phone calls, e-mails and communication from both retail partners and corporate team

What You'll Need
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Esthetician license preferred, but not required
- 4+ years managing across multiple doors in a retail-centric environment – preferably with direct experience working with Sephora
- Proven history of sales goal achievement within the cosmetics industry
- Experience with, and full understanding of, the Sephora concept
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, coach, and educate others
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive/effective business partnerships
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Must adhere to Sephora’s guidelines for in-store presentation, parameters for store visits, and other needs as outlined in Sephora provided handbooks
- Self-motivated and able to work independently

Working Conditions:
- Minimum of 2 weekend shifts per month
- 2 office days allowed per month
- Store visit schedule to be agreed upon with manager
- May include some nights
- Available for travel – up to 75% of the time within defined territory
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours
- Ability to drive a car for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Work within Company expense budgets, following established guidelines and procedures
- Additional duties may be required, depending on skill set, market trends, and business needs
- This position may manage freelance/ part-time workers during promotional times, to be agreed upon with manager
