JOB SUMMARY
Marriott International is entering a new chapter of growth and evolving how the company designs and manages products and experiences. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Vice President, Lodging Product Experience Design to lead the global lodging products and experiences organization, including development and management of global brand and portfolio strategy, end-to-end experience design, brand and operational standards, and architecture and design strategies. This leader will have a deep understanding of customer insights and trends, a forward-thinking mindset, and a commitment to incorporating innovation into all aspects of our work.
They will oversee the teams responsible for the development and management of global brand business blueprints, which include end-to-end experience maps, streamlined brand, operational and design standards, and financials, that are profitable for owners. This role will provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for center team members to foster an innovative and high-performance culture.
The team will also develop and evolve global performance monitoring and customer listening platforms, define clear global processes, identify areas for improvement, and drive global strategies to enhance performance and customer satisfaction. This leader will work closely with cross-discipline teams to ensure performance standards are met and to address any performance-related issues.
The team’s scope of work will be aligned with the investment priorities of the company. Shared resources will be allocated to work in “pods” that will execute against brand initiatives focused on the highest impact. The team will monitor key performance factors and drive continuous improvement across brand categories to differentiate, delight customers, and drive outsized growth for owners and Marriott International.
The Senior Vice President will also act as a global brand ambassador, promoting our portfolio of brands to key internal and external stakeholders. They will represent brands at international conferences, industry forums, and with global communities and groups, collaborating with Category Leads, Continent Lodging Products & Services Leaders to ensure consistent brand messaging across markets.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related major.
16+ years of relevant professional experience in brand management or 18+ years in a related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and patterns of exceptional performance.
Proven experience designing and developing global, differentiated brands.
Experience defining business needs and partnering with IT/Digital to manage and evolve technology platforms.
Preferred
Global Consumer Insights & Brand Strategy: Ability to identify key global consumer insights and moments of truth, creating compelling global brand positioning, proof points, and experiences. Proven ability to identify and build strategic partnerships that reinforce global brand presence.
Integrated Product Design & Development: Experience in product design and development, including global brand business blueprints, F&B partnerships, physical design concepting, and experience development, ensuring consistency and adaptability across continents.
Strategic Change & Market Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead innovation initiatives and manage change effectively across markets.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Global Brand Advocacy
Act as a global brand ambassador, promoting Marriott’s brand values and initiatives to key internal and external stakeholders worldwide.
Represent brands at international conferences, industry forums, and with global communities and groups.
Collaborate with Continent Lodging Products & Services Leaders to enable consistent brand messaging across markets.
Global Portfolio Strategy & Insights
Lead the creation of global portfolio strategies, in close partnership with Development and Continent leaders, that are informed by comprehensive market research, consumer insights, and emerging trends.
Monitor the effectiveness of these strategies and evolve them as necessary to ensure they continue to meet business objectives.
Resource Allocation & Prioritization
Oversee the planning and strategic allocation of shared resources for key initiatives across categories, ensuring the most impactful efforts receive focus.
Drive brand initiative prioritization process(es) for the center teams across categories.
Determine additional resource needs (e.g., agencies, consulting, flex resources) specific to the continent and monitor the effectiveness of spend and effort.
Integrated Global Product Design & Development
Lead a global lodging products and experiences team.
Incorporate physical design, F+B concepting, and service and culture design into global brand business blueprints.
Develop global brands with streamlined standards that are easy to regionalize for impactful adaptations.
Facilitate collaboration between cross-discipline teams or pods to ensure seamless execution of projects and initiatives.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for center team members to foster a high-performance culture.
Performance Monitoring & Platform Ownership
Develop and evolve global performance monitoring and customer listening platforms, defining clear global processes. Identify areas for improvement and drive actionable global strategies to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
Work closely with cross-discipline teams to ensure performance standards are met and to address any performance-related issues.
The salary range for this position is $281,265 to $380,535 annually.
