About the Job
As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Maximus, you will be the top technology executive, responsible for shaping our company's strategic technology direction and driving innovation across all aspects of our business. You will work closely with the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) to develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with our enterprise goals and delivers value to our internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Vision: Serve as a strategic and technology visionary, collaborating with the CDIO to develop differentiated digital and technical solutions that meet the needs of our clients and support our business objectives.
2. Outcome-Based Development: Lead an outcome-based development organization focused on delivering impactful solutions that drive business results and meet customer requirements.
3. Solution Architecture: Implement industry best practices in solution architecture to ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our technical solutions.
4. R&D Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of research and development projects, driving innovation in areas such as Digital, AI/ML, and Cyber to stay ahead of market trends and meet evolving client needs.
5. Technology Roadmap: Develop and maintain an executable technology roadmap that guides our investments and drives the adoption of technical solutions both internally and within customer-facing programs.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that technical processes, people, and capabilities are aligned to support business objectives and drive positive outcomes across Maximus business segments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in US government contracting, with domain expertise in agencies such as DOD, DHS, VA, DHA, or HHS.
- Proven track record of leadership in driving technology innovation and delivering solutions for the US Government at enterprise scale with quantifiable revenue impact
- Strong understanding of Digital, AI/ML, and Cyber technologies, with the ability to leverage these tools to drive business value.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, technology roadmap development, and project management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams through complex technical challenges.
- Must be in access or able to obtain TS/SCI clearance
- Must be available to work a hybrid schedule with a presence in our Tysons Corner, VA headquarters location.
Job Duties:

- Proven track record of managing the end-to-end solution development process, executing against defined budgets, building disruptive technology partnerships with external vendors, as well as diverse and deep expertise across solution delivery, security (Zero Trust), software, and digital solutions.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- The ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
- Excellent people management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large scale projects.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
