Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the organization and the Counterbalance Vehicle Integration team. As a Counterbalance vehicle integration team member, you will be an active contributor into the next phase of counterbalance lift trucks, with ownership of the truck design from cradle to grave and high visibility across all functional groups and levels throughout the company. This role plays an important function between the development centers, the manufacturing plants, and the rest of our organization ensuring that we deliver quality trucks and services that meet or exceed our customer’s expectations. Responsibilities:
- Vehicle-level systems engineering – Collaborate with system teams on design solutions to ensure the right truck for our customers
- Engage with system experts to model system functionality and predict truck level attributes.
- Manage, develop and maintain truck requirements – including the management and review of design verification activities
- Develop truck level FMEAs, and participate in System/Component FMEA activities.
- Cradle to Grave ownership of HYG truck level attributes – Current status and improvements needed to gain competitive advantage
- Lead and contribute to competitive product benchmarking projects – becoming the “expert” in competitor truck attributes.
Qualifications:
- Formal education with a minimum BS in Engineering.
- 10 years of experience in product development with involvement in project management and setting and validation of requirements.
- Experience leading cross-functional design and test teams preferred.
- General knowledge of drivetrain, steering, frame, axles, tires, brakes, and hydraulics.
- Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical design principles
- Working knowledge of Pro/E or NX modeling, engineering analysis, design layouts, manufacturing methods, truck assembly sequence.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management software (Agile preferred) and Business Process Management software (IBM BPM preferred)
- Understanding of forklift industry applications and truck options.
