CDM Smith currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with extensive previous experience managing transportation design and related projects to join and help lead our growing West Transportation Group. In this position, you will play a significant role in the management of complex transportation road, highway, and transit projects for major transportation agencies in the West. You will manage multi-disciplined project teams, develop the scope and budget for transportation projects, assist with marketing and business development activities, and serve as a key contributor to the success of our West Transportation Group.

As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
• Serving as the lead Project Manager on major road, highway, transit design transportation projects.
• Lead the development of scope, schedule and budget for transportation design projects.
• Monitor and control projects to ensure financial performance.
• Mentor current staff to enhance our transportation services capabilities.
• Assist in identifying potential new staff to help expand our transportation practice.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards for the firm and the client.
• Quality Analysis/Quality Control of key deliverables related to projects managed and assistance on projects managed by others.
• Assist with marketing and business development efforts and further expand our clients and opportunities with west pacific region transportation agencies.
• Building teams to match the project needs including selecting internal team members and establishing teaming partnerships with respective industry firms.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
• 13 years of related experience.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
• Domestic travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 15 years of experience in civil, transportation, or structural engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• Previous experience assisting with the proposal process and presenting/meeting with state, county, and municipal clients.
• Excellent communication, networking and team building skills.
• Strong experience meeting and working with NDOT and other county and/or municipal transportation agencies.

Experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Possesses in-depth knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities.
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Ability to interact with many people and process a large volume of requests as necessary.
• Excellent personal computer skills including strong knowledge in MS Word and Excel.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
