The National Security Sector (NSS) is hiring for a Senior Training and Exercise Specialist to provide expert guidance and direction to planning activities that underpin Customer/Agency operations. You will lead training support portion of Leidos on-site contract support to range of services provided to Customer/Agency J3 (Operations), Cyber National Mission Force (CNMF), and Joint Task Force-Ares (JTF-ARES), that include Cyber Operational Planning, Strategy & Doctrine Development, providing Campaign Assessments, and ensuring secure IT Communications efforts focused on improving relationships with key partner nations. Training support to these organizations will focus on providing timely, comprehensive, and realistic training to Agency J3, CNMF, and JTF-ARES to drive individual, section, and organizational growth that accelerates Agency mission. This Key Personnel opportunity is in anticipation of an upcoming contract award!
What you’ll be doing:
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate training that encompasses both command-directed and ad hoc training requirements to meet strategic, operational, and tactical mission needs within realm of Cyber Operations (CO), Information Operations (IO), Intelligence Operations, or other areas as deemed necessary by Agency.
- Prepare impactful training curriculum and relevant training materials in accordance with Agency and DoD training models, with focus on CO, IO, and Intelligence Operations.
- Expertly lead instructional team and provide hands-on instruction/training to military, civilian personnel, and contract personnel across range of topics to meet command requirements.
- Ensure training materials are current and accurately reflect Agency mission and capabilities.
- Support Agency command shaping of future training requirements.
- Update instructional Syllabi, Job Qualification Standards, and Training Task Lists as required.
- Conduct site visits to Agency subordinate and aligned organizations to assist with new training topic development and create courseware.
- Make applicable changes and updates to courseware as needed.
- Plan, coordinate, and support execution of individual, section and organizational-level exercises and joint collective events, and document performance assessments.
- Develop and provide cross-functional exercise design and execution for team, unit, and Service-level battle staffs, for active duty, reserve, Contractor and Government personnel.
- Support coordination and execution of exercise operations, to include: mission rehearsals and assessments, incorporating modeling and simulation and related Cyber Operations (CO), IO, and Space Operations (SO) exercise requirements, as appropriate.
- Provide input in detailing accomplishments and issues in performance of task.
- Develop reports, briefings, and recommendations to improve training efficiency and effectiveness, and identification of shortfalls and gaps.
- Mentor mid-level and junior government, military, and other contract personnel within training environment to improve overall quality of instruction.
What does Leidos need from me?
- Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance required. Must be SCI eligible if no current SCI.
- BA/BS degree from accredited college or university with 12 to 15 years experience within CO, IO, or Intelligence Operations or Masters’ degree with eight plus experience.
- Five years experience as organizational lead or deputy lead, lead instructional designer, or lead instructor for operational to strategic-level training focused CO, IO, or Intelligence Operations.
- Two years experience briefing or delivering training to senior military and civilian leaders.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE) for Cyber Mission Force training and exercise activities.
- Ability to provide timely, accurate, relevant analytic documents, summaries, issue papers, talking points, and briefings.
- Demonstrated proficiency working in a fast-paced collaborative environment, ability to proactively multi-task and meet short deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey complex and technical data to nontechnical consumers.
Favorable if you have:
- BA/BS degree w/greater than 15 years experience supporting Joint Operations or Masters’ degree with 10 plus years of experience.
- Master or Senior-level instructor certification from service or Joint/DoD equivalency.
- Prior experience providing training & exercise support to Agency in any capacity.
- Prior experience with providing training & exercise support to Joint operations across multiple warfighting domains.
- Joint Professional Military Education, Phase II (JPME II) graduate, or civilian equivalency.
- Formal training within field of Cyber Warfare and Joint Operations
- Familiar with art of Data Science and applicability to CO, with specific emphasis on support to developing instructional materials.
- Familiar with Microsoft Power BI data visualization software.
- Demonstrated experience forecasting, documenting and managing a training or exercise budget.
- Desired Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (CCNA Security, COMPTIA CySA+, COMPTIA Security + CE, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
