We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Trade Operations Analyst opportunity with a highly successful Investment Management firm located in New York, NY. The Senior Trade Operations Analyst will be responsible for trade processing and settlement and middle office operations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of trade operations, securities processing, and/or trade support experience in financial services.
This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity, paying $40-$50/hour.

The Senior Trade Operations Analyst will be responsible for trade processing and settlement and middle office operations. Responsibilities:
- Receive and meticulously reconcile trade execution details (excluding temporary disposals) from various internal systems with counterparties.
- Monitor the delivery versus payment (DVP) settlement process with custodians, ensuring timely delivery of securities and receipt of payment.
- Drive trade processing activities. Utilize strong understanding of equities, ETFs, convertibles, bonds, TCNs, CTM/Alert and Bloomberg Tools.
- Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting Swift messages related to settlements (MT540, 541, 542, 543, 544, 545, 546, 547, 548) for seamless communication.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools for efficient data manipulation and report generation.
- Draft and maintain procedures and operating instructions, ensuring optimal workflow.
- Establish precise instructions for custodians related to deliveries (DEPO) and settlements (VALO) based on reconciled trades.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for clients, summarizing their securities activity.
- Analyze, research, and resolve discrepancies (pending positions or cash) identified through the "Pole Position and Reconciliation" process, ensuring accurate account balances.
- Identify areas for improvement within the securities processing function and propose innovative solutions, potentially involving automation initiatives.
- Participate in the evaluation of counterparty performance and reliability ("intermediaries").
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- 3-5+ years of experience in trade support, securities processing, and/or middle office operations within financial services industry
- Experience with securities products like equities, ETFs, convertibles, bonds, and TCNs
- SWIFT experience (required)
- Working knowledge of CTM/Alert and Bloomberg Tools (a plus)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
