Selectek has an immediate need for a Senior Test Engineer in the metro Atlanta, GA area.
Job Summary:
The main responsibility of the test engineer is to oversee proper commissioning of protective and control devices within a substation. Commissioning includes performing relay calibration based on the logics and settings provided by the Protection and Control Engineer as well as checking proper installation of control devices. Test Engineer are often called upon to troubleshoot problems within a substation identified either by other departments or participants. Test Engineer is responsible for the documentation of electrical control drawings and Operating Instructions inside of a substation.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical supervision to testing contractors. This includes overseeing the following tasks:
3. Provide technical support to participants and other departments and assist during outages.
4. Manage documents in the substation, which includes sending field-markups to Engineering and placing As-Built drawing in stations.
5. Update Operating Instructions (OI) and System One Lines (SOL) of a substation and work with GPC Control Center (GCC) to review and approve OI and SOL
6. Update System Operator One Lines in a substation and work with GPC GCC to have the latest One Lines in STOMP.
7. Assist GPC Test personnel by answering questions related to transmission station routines.
Required:
Degree in Electrical Engineer preferably Power option or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in Power System relay testing and commissioning
Must be able to read and understand electrical control drawings
Must be able to communicate effectively
Must be able to perform these duties with minimum or no supervision
Travel will be required to the work destination typically within the State of Georgia
100% REMOTE, FIELD POSITION. Candidate should be within 2 hours of Metro Atlanta area. Projects could be in Covington, Loganville, Cartersville, Augusta, etc.

Pay range: $120,000-$130,000 annual salary
Term of assignment: Direct Hire
Location of job: Remote (should be within 2 hours of Metro Atlanta 30328)
Hours and shift: Monday Thursday, 10 hour days
Work from home/remote: Yes
Overtime expected: No
Travel: Yes, should enjoy driving and working independently.

- Commissioning distribution substations with high side voltages of 230,115, and 46 kV and low side voltages typically 12.47kV and 25kV but to be determined by customer requirements.
- Applying setting changes and performing relay calibration & logic settings provided by the protection engineer. The types of relays range from microprocessor base to electromechanical base.
- Testing and Commissioning new or existing protection panels, Power equipment (breakers, transformers, voltage regulators, etc.), station service (AC & DC), communication equipment (SCADA RTU, annunciators, etc.), and metering.
- Preparing switching orders and perform substation switching.
3. Provide technical support to participants and other departments and assist during outages.
