OPS Consulting is seeking an experienced professional Sr. Technical Writer to work in Laurel, MD on a Prime contract. In this position, a successful candidate will be responsible for preparation, review, and maintenance of technical, strategic planning, and formal program-level acquisition documents through consultation with technical, program, and leadership personnel and other available resources.
Responsibilities:
- Understand basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), responsible for writing technical copy of various types of documents
- Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
- Gather technical information, prepare written text
- Maintain a current internal documentation library
- Use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Viso, etc.
- Understand basic concepts and write technical copy for various types of documents for program/project of similar complexity
- Prepare and maintain operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
- Prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences
- Work with technical leads to produce quality documentation
- Coordinate layout and design of documents
- Work with all phases of documentation
- Under general direction, write technical copy of various types of documents for a program/project similar in complexity
- Apply concepts of technical writing based on engineering documents consultations with engineers and subject matter experts
- Work independently preparing and maintaining highly complex program documentation
- Provide expert oversight of technical writing and editing to all phases of acquisition and technical documentation for the Program
- Eight years of experience as a TW in programs or contracts of similar scope. Bachelor's degree in similar discipline.
Security Clearance:
- A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
