We’re expanding our team and looking for a talented Senior Technical Designer with a strong background in sweater design and fit to help us bring our next collection to life. Your Role:

As a Senior Technical Designer at RDG Global, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our designs are executed to perfection, with a focus on sweater products. You will work closely with designers, pre-production teams, factories, and sales to bring designs from concept to production-ready garments. This role is all about precision, communication, and being able to execute tech packs with expert knowledge of sweater construction and fit.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Tech Pack Creation: Partner with design to create detailed tech packs in Excel, ensuring that all design elements are clearly communicated for sample creation and pricing.
• Sweater Expertise: Apply your expert knowledge of yarn construction and technical fit in all sweater gauges to ensure designs are achievable, cost-effective, and meet our high-quality standards.
• Construction & Finishing Details: Accurately call out garment construction details, trims, and finishing techniques while ensuring the product fits within customer price points.
• Prototypes & Fittings: Review and approve prototypes to ensure they follow the correct construction and fit specifications.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with CAD designers to ensure that artwork and design details align with the tech pack and communicate any changes or needs.
• Problem Solving: Identify potential design or manufacturing challenges early on and develop practical solutions to keep projects on track.
• Teamwork & Communication: Participate in design, technical, and cross-functional meetings and effectively communicate technical specifications to internal and external teams.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 6-8 years in technical design, with a strong focus on Missy and Modern Sweaters. Experience with Women’s/Plus-Size apparel is a plus.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of garment construction and fit, particularly in sweater construction, yarn types, and gauge variations.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience with 3D Design tools like Browzwear is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments and with external partners.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and quality in all work.
• Business Experience: Experience working with major retailers like Kohl’s is a plus.
