Position Summary:
We are seeking a General Manager to join our innovative team. This leadership role is pivotal in our strategy to expand through the acquisition and integration of accounting and tax practices. As part of the leadership team of a recently acquired practice, you will collaborate closely with existing leaders to drive growth and elevate operational performance. The ideal candidate will lead client relationships, drive revenue growth, and actively contribute to business development initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage your own profit and loss (P&L) within a rapidly expanding company, with potential pathways to partnership or ownership.
Responsibilities:
Lead strategic tax planning and compliance efforts for a diverse client base, ensuring optimal financial outcomes and compliance with tax regulations.
Prepare and manage complex tax returns, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and proactive identification of savings opportunities.
Cultivate and expand client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor in their financial strategies and growth plans.
Drive business development activities to enhance service offerings and support company growth objectives.
Play a key role in integrating and leading newly acquired tax practices, ensuring seamless transitions and alignment with company standards.
Mentor and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Stay abreast of industry trends and tax law changes, applying knowledge to benefit clients and the firm.
Requirements/Preferences:
Active CPA or EA certification.
Preferred (but not required) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
10-15 years of experience in senior tax advisory roles, with a proven track record of managing client portfolios and driving business development.
Expertise in federal and state tax codes, with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex tax scenarios.
Strong leadership and communication skills, including experience in team integration and management.
Commitment to professional growth and development, with an interest in advancing to a partner or ownership role.
