Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee complex tax engagements, including federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients, including estate, gift, and trust tax planning.
- Conduct tax research and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Work with clients on M&A planning, due diligence, and post-transaction tax matters.
- Collaborate with other service lines within the firm to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients (e.g., valuation services, financial projections, and litigation support).
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services and cross-selling.
- Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance, training, and professional development.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all tax filings.
- Assist in representing clients before tax authorities during audits or examinations.
- Stay current with new tax regulations, industry trends, and best practices to provide proactive guidance to clients.
- CPA certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with M&A tax planning, estate, trust, and gift tax planning.
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent client service and relationship management skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with tax software and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
