About the Job
Senior Tax Associate - US Business Taxation role will include:
Client Responsibilities:
➢ Tax Compliance: Review U.S. business tax returns (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120S, 990), state income tax returns.
➢ Client Management: Manage client relationships, oversee data validation, address clarifications, and ensure timely delivery of tax returns and billing.
➢ Financial Analysis: Evaluate business financials, recommend improvements in books, payroll, and services, and verify vendor payments for 1099 filings.
➢ Compliance Monitoring: Set expectations for compliance processes, resolve complex issues, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
➢ Strategic Involvement: Build client relationships, monitor filing requirements, and provide insights for better financial management.
Other Responsibilities:
➢ Tax Compliance Expertise: Thorough understanding of U.S. tax implications for business owners and their filings.
➢ Research & Advisory: Analyze and interpret evolving tax rules; provide consultancy and research support to clients.
➢ Client Support: Explain tax laws, help clients adapt to changes, and represent them before the IRS with appropriate POA.
➢ Leadership: Supervise and mentor Tax Assistants, contributing to their professional development.
➢ Training & Development: Regularly contribute to in-house training sessions and management meetings.
➢ Technical Proficiency: Added value for experience with Drake or Lacerte tax software.
Delivery Management:
➢ Client Management: Manage extensive client leads end-to-end, including data gathering, validation,
clarifications, review, returns delivery, and billing processes.
➢ Tax Compliance Oversight: Ensure accurate tax compliance by setting clear expectations for work scope,
timelines, and delivery.
➢ Issue Resolution: Identify complex client issues and effectively communicate them to managers/directors and clients at the appropriate time.
➢ Process Excellence: Ensure adherence to tax return procedures, monitoring compliance processes and filing requirements, and preventing client escalations.
➢ Relationship Building: Actively engage in building strong client relationships and driving team performance to meet deadlines.
➢ Team Leadership: Motivate and lead the team to complete tasks within deadlines.
Qualification: Graduation/PG; EA is an added advantage
Experience: 2-3 years of experience as a Reviewer
