We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our growing team in the Accounting + Finance industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking to elevate their career to the next level. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and driving the success of multiple engagements across different areas. This position requires a high degree of knowledge and expertise in real estate tax, corporations, income tax, individual and corporate tax returns, tax accounting, tax preparation, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review complex tax returns including federal and state income tax, real estate tax, and corporate tax returns.
2. Conduct thorough tax research and planning to optimize client's tax position and ensure compliance with tax laws.
3. Manage and maintain relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and quality tax advice.
4. Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies and planning.
5. Prepare and review financial statements, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
6. Stay abreast of current industry trends and tax regulations to ensure client's compliance and optimization of tax position.
7. Provide training, guidance, and support to junior staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
9. Participate in business development initiatives, promoting the company's services to prospective clients.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a tax role with an emphasis on real estate tax, corporations, income tax, individual and corporate tax returns, tax accounting, tax preparation, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
3. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements.
4. Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and provide insightful solutions.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
6. Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and meet tight deadlines.
8. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
9. Commitment to continuous learning and development in the field of tax accounting.
10. Proven track record of providing excellent customer service and building strong client relationships.
11. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
