We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Senior Tax Associate to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. You will play a crucial role in our financial department, overseeing all tax-related matters, including compliance, reporting, planning, and strategy. Responsibilities
As a Permanent Senior Tax Associate, you will:
1. Oversee all tax functions, including tax compliance, tax planning, and tax strategy.
2. Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
3. Manage the preparation and filing of S Corporation tax returns.
4. Conduct research on complex tax matters and provide guidance to management.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of efficient tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax savings.
6. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
7. Liaise with federal and state tax authorities to resolve tax audits and inquiries.
8. Stay abreast of current tax laws and regulations and ensure the company's compliance.
9. Provide training and support to junior tax associates, as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax, with specific experience in S Corporation tax returns.
3. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations and apply them to company operations.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in a clear and understandable manner.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Proficiency in tax software and other financial software.
8. A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest tax laws and regulations.
