Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review complex corporate federal and state income tax returns (1120C) and work papers to ensure timely and accurate filings.
2. Conduct detailed research and analysis of tax issues and devise strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
3. Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740, including the calculation of current and deferred taxes, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, and tax controls.
4. Collaborate with internal and external auditors for financial statement audits and internal control testing.
5. Keep abreast of current tax laws and regulations to ensure the company is in compliance and identify opportunities for tax savings.
6. Assist in special tax projects as needed, such as tax audits, M&A activities, and tax planning initiatives.
7. Provide guidance and support to junior tax staff and other departments on tax-related matters.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's Degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of three years of progressive experience in corporate tax, with a focus on ASC 740 and 1120C.
3. In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
4. Proficiency in tax software and other relevant computer applications.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
6. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
8. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
