Position Overview:
The Senior Tax Analyst will utilize their advanced skills to review complex corporate federal and state tax returns, audit quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions prepared by staff, assist managers in monitoring workflow and deadlines, and serve as a leader and mentor to junior staff.
- Prepare federal, state & local income tax returns, federal and state tax estimates, extensions, and forecasting
- Utilize advanced corporate tax knowledge and understanding to support the tax compliance and tax provision process
- Review and prepare complex corporate federal and state tax returns
- Demonstrate understanding of ASC 740 and ability to prepare income tax accrual calculations
- Audit quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions prepared by staff
- Demonstrate understanding of tax return filing requirements for foreign operations
- Conduct federal and state tax research and draft/review memorandums to support tax return filing positions and special projects to minimize tax expense
- Remain current on developments and changes in tax law and accounting procedures
Qualifications Sought:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 2 years of progressive corporate income tax preparation and experience working in a corporate tax department, professional services firm, or mid-sized/regional to large sized/national public accounting firm
- 2 years’ experience in income tax provisional and or consolidated federal and state tax returns
- Experience in automated tax processing systems and online tax research tools: ONESOURCE, CCH, RIA & BNA
- Excellent advisory and compliance skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate complex information
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
