We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in public accounting, tax planning, and preparation. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring various tax-related activities within our organization. This role requires a strong understanding of federal and state tax, real estate tax, and corporate tax returns.
Responsibilities:
As our Senior Tax Accountant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Preparing and reviewing corporate, individual, and partnership tax returns.
2. Assisting with tax planning and research, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
3. Providing support in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
4. Handling SALT (State and Local Tax) matters, including compliance, audit defense, and planning.
5. Utilizing Quickbooks for financial management and reporting.
6. Managing tax strategies to maximize profits and efficiency, while ensuring compliance with tax laws.
7. Assisting with federal and state audits by preparing supporting schedules, workpapers, and any other necessary data.
8. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and changes in tax law that could impact the company.
9. Providing guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Tax Accountant position will possess the following qualifications:
1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
3. Proficient in using Quickbooks and other accounting software.
4. Extensive knowledge and understanding of federal and state tax, SALT, and corporate tax returns.
5. Experience with tax planning and review, real estate tax, S Corp, and tax preparation.
6. Excellent analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and quality of work.
9. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
