The Senior Tax Accountant will play a critical role in managing and coordinating tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions. This role requires an individual with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations and a commitment to stay updated on the latest industry developments.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex tax returns, including federal and state income tax, sales tax, and property tax returns.
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and suggest strategies to minimize tax liability.
- Manage tax audits and inquiries by governmental authorities, and provide appropriate responses.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and regulations, and inform management of significant changes that may impact the company.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff members on tax-related matters.
- Participate in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies and policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a tax accountant role, preferably within the finance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
