Senior Tax Accountant
Full-Time Year-Round Position

Position Overview:
We are looking for an exceptional and experienced Tax Accountant with a strong background in accounting. The ideal candidate will be skilled in preparing and reviewing individual, business, and trust tax returns, as well as managing complex accounting tasks and preparing financial statements. A key aspect of this role is providing excellent tax, accounting, and financial advice to clients, while also serving as a mentor and reviewer for junior staff members ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of accuracy and comply with tax laws and regulations.

Key Objectives and Results:
• Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Review tax returns and accounting work completed by other accountants for accuracy and compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Conduct tax research and stay up-to-date on new tax regulations to advise on tax strategies.
• Provide support and guidance to other accountants in the team, ensuring a collaborative and efficient workflow.
• Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies.
• Manage deadlines and ensure timely completion of all tax filings and reporting.
• Ensure the confidentiality of each customer by following all company procedures regarding information handling.

Requirements and expectations:
• Customer Service oriented with impeccable professionalism.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tax law, precedents, government regulations, and IRS and California rules. Ability to conduct tax research.
• Experience in contacting tax agencies on behalf of clients.
• 5 or more years of experience with tax preparation.
• 5 or more years of experience with accounting.
• Current PTIN and EA, or CPA certification required.
• Lacerte Tax and/or CCH Axcess Tax preferred; proficient with QuickBooks; Microsoft Office Suite; and Adobe.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy to meet the quality of work standards.
• Adaptability in a deadline-driven environment with changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, maintaining a professional and positive demeanor.
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.

Salary and Benefits:
• Starting at $36/hour or more depending on experience, plus applicable benefits.
