We are a dynamic mid-size public accounting firm, seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tax Accountant. This permanent role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of clients and a team of experienced professionals to provide top-notch accounting services. You will have the chance to use your expertise in tax preparation and planning, financial reporting, account analysis, and more to make a significant impact on our clients' financial success.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Tax Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns including 1040 individual, HNW Tax, ccorp, scorp, estates, partnership, trust, and other entities.
2. Conducting thorough account analysis and making adjusting journal entries as necessary.
3. Preparing and reviewing balance sheet and cash flow reports.
4. Providing strategic tax planning and compliance advice to clients.
5. Assisting in IRS and state tax audits.
6. Mentoring and supervising junior staff, providing guidance and feedback.
7. Staying updated on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
8. Working closely with partners and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Tax Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a strong focus on tax.
2. Proficient in preparing and reviewing 1040 individual, HNW Tax, ccorp, scorp, estates, partnership, trust, and other entity returns.
3. Experience with account analysis and adjusting journal entries.
4. Extensive knowledge in preparing and reviewing balance sheet and cash flow reports.
5. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. CPA certification is preferred.
6. Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance and consulting.
7. Experience managing multiple client engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
8. Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
9. Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.
