Senior Tax Accountant

Our client, a leading Certified Public Accounting firm based in Long Island, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. With a strong reputation for providing expertise across accounting, auditing, and tax estate planning, this role supports the firm’s growth as they prepare for the 2025 tax season.

This is a full-time, in-office position with occasional client site visits. Candidates must be local to the Plainview, NY area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple tax engagements, managing the preparation and review of complex tax returns (1040s, 1041s, 1120s, and 1065s).
• Work on tax compliance, including federal, state, and local tax returns, extensions, and quarterly projections for individuals, trusts, and estates.
• Provide financial planning services for high-net-worth individuals, focusing on estates, gifting, and IRA strategies.
• Collaborate with a diverse client base across various industries, acting as a trusted advisor for tax planning and compliance needs.
• Develop and mentor staff, reviewing work, offering constructive feedback, and guiding professional development.
• Use professional judgment to identify tax planning opportunities related to cross-border transactions and activities.
• Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a liaison between internal staff and leadership to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Education: CPA license preferred/required with a strong, diversified tax background.
• Experience: 3-5+ years of public accounting experience managing multiple engagements.
• Proficiency with CCH Axcess Tax, Engagement, and QuickBooks.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with a team-player mentality.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
