Our Miami-based client is a mid-sized public accounting firm (tax and audit) that has an attractive work-life balance and very solid benefits. They are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. They will require visiting the office once per quarter and highly prefer Florida candidates. This role offers the opportunity to become a manager in the future. The team has a great collaborative environment and a lot of support.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$90k
Position Overview:
The Senior Tax Accountant will be preparing and filing various tax returns and handling compliance and accounting for corporate income taxes. The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for continuously researching and staying updated with current tax laws and regulations.
Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Accountant:
- The Senior Tax Accountant will prepare and file multi-state, federal, and state tax returns for C-corporations and partnerships, including extensions and estimated payments.
- Prepare federal and state consolidated tax returns and interface with corporate operating companies.
- Identify, research, and resolve tax issues.
- Perform corporate income tax functions, compliance, planning, and accounting.
- Calculate tax basis and implications of proposed transactions.
- Handle voluntary disclosures.
- The Senior Tax Accountant will analyze tax accounts and maintain communication with tax authorities.
Qualifications for the Senior Tax Accountant:
- Minimum 2 years of experience at another public accounting/CPA firm.
- Highly analytical and strong communication skills.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
