Job Description:
- Tax Return Preparation and Filing.
- Prepare and file fiduciary, charitable, partnership, and personal tax returns with a focus on complex cases.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of fiduciary, gift tax, foundation, partnership, and personal tax returns.
- Address and resolve complex tax return issues.
- Work closely with the Director in a supportive and collaborative manner.
- Act as a resource for Junior Tax Accountants, providing guidance and support.
- Provide backup coverage for the Director during absences.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters.
- Review tax preparation work completed by other Tax Accountants.
- Offer expert tax advice to the Director, fellow Tax Accountants, and clients.
- Participate in the interview process for new hires.
- Provide input during the performance review process for Junior Tax Accountants and tax accounting support staff.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience working as a fiduciary, charitable, partnership and personal tax preparer with experience in tax preparation and tax problem analysis/resolution.
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s in Taxation Preferred
- Prior tax accounting experience in a mid-size or larger professional industry work environment is preferred.
- Able to work on significantly complex tax preparations with minimal direct supervision.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable tax codes and in changes to the tax code.
- High proficiency working with the necessary hardware and software used in tax preparation.
