Senior Tax Accountant - CPA - Orion Placement

Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at the Plano, TX office for the first 90 days. After that, there is 1 to 2 days WFH per week.

Job Description

• Lead and manage various tax projects for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Perform tax compliance for individual and business clients, including preparation, planning, and projections
• Review and provide insight on complex tax returns, applying deep tax knowledge to support optimal outcomes
• Conduct tax research and respond to tax inquiries, managing resolutions and correspondence
• Supervise accounting processes, financial reporting, and related client services
• Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and a high-performing culture
• Collaborate with partners on strategies for client growth and operational improvements

Qualifications

• CPA certification required
• Minimum of 3 years in public accounting with a strict focus on tax returns for at least 3 consecutive tax seasons
• Proficient understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
• Experience with tax compliance, risk assessment, and internal controls
• Skilled in accounting software and financial systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
