Job Details
Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of clients and serve as the primary point of contact for tax-related matters.
Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns accurately and in a timely manner.
Conduct tax research to stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and provide guidance to clients and internal teams.
Analyze financial statements and tax documents to identify tax-saving opportunities and optimize tax strategies for clients.
Assist with tax planning and advisory services, including entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and other tax-related transactions.
Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance on tax compliance and professional development.
Collaborate with other departments within the firm, such as audit and consulting, to provide integrated solutions for clients' financial needs.
Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide proactive tax advice.
Assist with tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities when necessary.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in tax accounting, and contribute to the continuous improvement of firm processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem FX Tax, UltraTax, other related software) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff.
Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
Continuous learning mindset with a willingness to expand knowledge and skills in tax accounting.
