Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an energetic and motivated Systems/Network Engineer with project management and technical subject matter expertise to join our team of technical and business experts providing operational and mission support to a SI/SETA mission for a classified customer in Northern, Virginia.
Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for Systems Engineering/Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/O&M).
**The ideal candidate should possess Cloud development / C2E experience**
In this role the Systems/Network Engineer must possess a strong IT background to implement and manage an enterprise tool from cloud-based servers to end-users and is currently developing an updated version of this tool. The Systems/Network Engineer is expected to facilitate the implementation of the tool under development to the C2E.
The Systems/Network Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Provide O&M of existing network systems.
- Review and provide technical designs and system testing plans.
- Provide technical feedback on contractor's designs.
- Track major milestones and reviews.
- Advising on the CONOP and use cases for customer network equipment and end-users.
- Assist in security accreditation process.
- Assist in new SIx branch efforts.
- Assist in the review and assessment of contractor deliverables.
- Integrate and configure COTS systems to fit into legacy and upgraded enterprise systems.
- Run system vulnerability scans using COTS scan tools.
- Design and maintain systems: operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other mission-partner organizations.
- Closely collaborate with ISSM staff, sys admins, and cyber security personnel to design systems that can receive accreditation.
- Provide recommendations and system enhancements.
- Develop/review test strategies for the evaluation of systems.
- Assist in the review and assessment of contractor deliverables.
- Design, build, and test communication architectures that are to be installed at base-end systems.
- Able to build systems: install operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other organizations.
- Closely collaborate with ISSM staff, sys admins and cyber security personnel to design communications that can receive accreditation and are highly secure.
** While this role will accomplish most tasks On-site, Monday to Friday, Minimum TDY travel (<10%) or more is expected to CONUS Government Facilities and will be directed by the customer. No OCONUS travel is expected but available in some cases**
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active/Current TS/SCI w/Polygraph.
- Bachelors' degree in an engineering, science, or other related technical discipline and eight (8+) years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree and six (6+) years of relevant experience; or PhD and three (3+) years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of eight (8+) years of experience in the design, development, and testing of communication architectures that are deployed.
- A minimum of eight (8+) years of experience with LINUX and Windows operating systems.
- Extensive Cloud (C2E) development experience.
- Understanding of TCP/IP network protocols.
- Proven experience in network engineering.
- Ability to build systems: install operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other organizations.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to design and understand systems such as, operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other mission-partner organizations.
- Experience configuring network infrastructure, Linux servers, and Windows servers.
- Experience managing firewall and router access control lists.
- Cloud development experience.
- Strong understanding of VMWare virtualization builds.
- Strong oral communication skills and patience
- Willingness and ability to do domestic TDY’s, (approx. 1 X every 6 weeks). to contractor sites as needed. No OCONUS travel is expected but is available in some cases.
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters' degree or higher in an engineering, science, or other related technical discipline.
- Previous experience with the IC.
