Senior Systems Engineer - Nodal Exchange

We are now looking for talented, innovative individuals to join our team in Tysons Corner, VA (DC Metro area). 

 

 

Nodal seeks an intelligent, articulate, and skilled Senior Systems Engineer.  This hire will:

 

·       Create and maintain robust operating environments for key technologies and applications.

·       Maintain virtualized infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud.

·       Plan and execute upgrades to operating systems on deployed servers.

·       Deploy and provision new server hardware.

·       Be an integral part of many technology phases: Evaluation, procurement, design, configuration, deployment, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, restoration and recovery.

 

The ideal candidate not only has core system administration skills but also a strong interest in contributing to the design and evolution of complex system architectures and processes. 

·       Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a closely related field

·       5+ years of related experience

·       Strong fundamental Linux Administration skills (LFCS or RHCE level)

·       Strong fundamental Windows Administration skills (MCSE or MCWSHAA level)

·       Proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python, Powershell and/or Bash

·       Strong problem-solving skills

·       Experience working with VMware vCenter and ESXi

·       Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues

·       Confidence in own ideas along with openness to others’ ideas

·       Experience with SQL/Postgres/Database experience

·       Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Ansible, Rundeck etc.)

·       Experience with HashiCorp products like Terraform and Vault.

·       Experience with log analysis using Splunk

·       Experience in transforming legacy applications to cloud.

·       Experience in system performance tuning and security hardening.

·       Experience in administering databases such as Postgres

·       Experience working with any of the big public cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure.

 

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000

Pay Transparency Notice: The salary range is based on the D.C. metro area, the successful candidate’s starting salary will vary depending on permissible, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, and experience.
