The Systems Analysis team is seeking a Senior System Engineer to enhance our highly motivated team and assist in developing complex robotic systems within the System Engineering Team under the Robotics and Digital Solutions division of JnJ. This is a compelling opportunity for a Systems Engineer to leverage mathematical modeling techniques to bring together complex (and sometimes conflicting) needs from multiple stakeholders, including end-user, regulatory, clinical, mechanical, electrical, controls, marketing, etc.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining analysis tools in high-level languages such as Matlab/Python, creating and revising related requirements, supporting technical trades and decisions, and guiding efforts in Verification and Validation. Need expertise in multi-axis systems, robot manipulators, physics and block simulators, and simulation modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain computational and logical models of key system performance aspects and behaviors.
- Develop requirements, specifications, and architectures for system/subsystem performance, based on fundamental analysis and data-driven techniques.
- Work closely with design teams to enable design solutions that align with requirements and minimize risks
- Lead a small technical team and support systems engineering activities across the enterprise
- Help build a knowledge database for analysis tools and techniques that can be used across the project
- MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, or other closely related fields, with at least 3 years of professional experience (recent graduates with exceptional expertise will be considered)
- Solid foundation in kinematics, dynamics, and mechatronics. Proficiency in biomechanics and controls preferred.
- Proficiency in high-level analysis languages (Matlab/Simulink)
- Proven experience partitioning, decomposing, and solving complex engineering problems in cross-domain contexts.
- Strong mathematical background is a plus.
- Experience performing systems engineering functions, including experience writing requirements and design specifications
- Strong experience in robotics simulation. Experience with physics-engine and game-engines is a plus.
Additional Information:
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $105,000 to $169,050.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. •
