Senior Systems Engineer at VAST Data

Work closely with the R&D team to understand the technology needs of the customers and compatibility of our systems. Assist customers with evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations to match and understand their specific requirements. Help with the development of dispersed group of system and field engineers and work with R&D engineering to help define product requirements and usability. Work with engineering to document changes and offerings with customer accounts and help with the creation of blueprints for repeatable solutions that the sales team will deliver to the customer community. Prepare and deliver technical product and architecture presentations to customers and trainees. Participate in the creation of sales strategy and tactics and take ownership of technical responsibilities within customer accounts. Create architecture “blueprints” for repeatable solutions that the Sales team uses to deliver to the customer community.

Salary: $230,000 - $250,000/year

Job Requirements:

Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: Apache Hadoop; Apache Impala; Apache Hive; Apache Spark; Enterprise Data Warehousing; Deep Relational Database (RDBMS); Apache KUDU; and Apache Kafka. Must have four (4) years of experience with: Apache HBase; and Parquet, ORC, and Avro File Formats. Must have three (3) years of experience with Apache Nifi. Domestic and international travel required to conferences, internal meetings, and client sites.
