Senior Systems Engineer - NetImpact Strategies

NetImpact Strategies is seeking a talented Senior System’s Engineer to support a local military medical center, located in Ft. Sam Houston, TX. This is a 100% on-site role. 

The ideal candidate will have Advanced knowledge and experience in the enterprise level design and deployment of technologies such as Windows Server Operating Systems (2016,2019, 2022), Storage Area Networks (SAN), VMware vSphere, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix XenServer, Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, and Microsoft Azure.  

The ideal candidate will have Advanced knowledge and experience implementing and sustaining security solutions and requirements in a DOD environment such as DOD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Microsoft Group Policy, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Risk Management Framework (RMF), Splunk, Trellix Endpoint Security System (ESS).   

Responsibilities:  

• Manage government-owned nurse call systems, middleware, wireless messaging servers, and associated appliances. 
• Ensure system integrity through patching, hardening, and adherence to DoD and local IAM policies. 
• Create and maintain required documentation (e.g., system scans, SOPs, recovery plans, risk management framework) to meet DoD security requirements. 
• Maintain relationships with system vendors to stay updated on technologies and initiatives. 
• Analyze and address customer needs to optimize nurse call alerts and call flow processes. 
• Troubleshoot and repair infrastructure for nurse call systems and associated wireless devices. 
• Ensure high system uptime by addressing Nurse Call system issues immediately. 
• Provide monthly work order and task reports to the government lead. 
• Maintain an inventory of all related property and systems. 
• Prepare detailed BOMs for work orders/projects, including descriptions, quantities, and costs. 
• Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise-level Windows Server Operating Systems (2016, 2019, 2022), VMware vSphere, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and Microsoft Azure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for a healthcare environment. 
• Implement and sustain security solutions adhering to DOD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards. 
• Manage Storage Area Networks (SAN), Citrix XenServer, and Dell Compellent systems, providing advanced support for virtualization and data storage needs. 
• Maintain and optimize Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, Microsoft Group Policy, Microsoft SQL Server, and Internet Information Services (IIS) to support enterprise applications and user management. 
• Utilize tools such as Splunk and Trellix Endpoint Security System (ESS) to monitor system performance, detect vulnerabilities, and respond to incidents to maintain operational integrity. 

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology 

• 15 years of experience architecting, deploying, and managing enterprise level Windows Server and Virtualization solutions from the planning to the sustainment phase in a DOD healthcare environment.  

• Advanced knowledge and experience in required technologies  

• Advanced knowledge and experience implementing and sustaining security solutions and requirements in a DOD environment listed above  

• Ability to work onsite

• Implementing Citrix XenApp 5.0 for Windows Server 2008 

• Advanced Administration for Citrix XenApp 5.0 for Windows Server 2008 

• VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, and Manage 

• Microsoft PowerShell for the IT Administrator 

• Microsoft Azure Administrator 

• Microsoft Azure: Infrastructure as a Service 

• DISA ACAS Version 5.3 

• McAfee Endpoint Security Solutions Administrator/Advanced Administrator (201/301)  

• Dell Compellent Storage Center Advanced Administrator 

• Certifications: 

Certification(s) may be waived at the discretion of the government based on excess work experience. 

• Citrix Certified Advanced Administrator (CCAA) 

• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 

• CompTIA Security+ 

• CompTIA Network+
