Overview
The Senior Systems and Cloud Engineer role is to maintain and administer the firm's cloud services (such as Software as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, etc.) as well as the hardware and virtual infrastructure including servers, appliances, server-based applications, security devices and related components to achieve secure, high availability and performance of the various business applications supported. This individual will work with our Infrastructure Team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloudbased solutions. You will be responsible for deploying and migrating services to the cloud, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure. This includes planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, administering, supporting, and optimizing cloud solutions and services. The Sr. Cloud Engineer will work closely with other Infrastructure teams, profit centers, service desks and level 2 and 3 Microsoft 365 support staff. Serve as a subject matter expert contributing to a wide variety of projects in support of the enterprise workplace and collaborations roadmap. Provide technical guidance in planning and implementing new solutions while ensuring existing platforms remain stable. Work under the direction of senior leadership and reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager.
*Hybrid = Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Administers and engineers aspects of Microsoft Office 365 products and Entra (Azure AD) including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform, Conditional Access, MFA, Enterprise applications, and related technologies.
- Works well within a team environment, supporting other IT personnel and end users.
- Applies knowledge and experience to maintain a secure, high-functioning environment.
- Uses critical thinking to ensure smooth operations, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues.
- Reviews current technologies, tools, and services and make recommendations for their use based on security/compliance, financial, and operational criteria.
- Regularly reviews and improves existing systems as well as deploying new solutions.
- Understanding of Microsoft licensing SKUs/models and deployment best practices.
- Assists cyber security investigations and contributes to providing audit proof of operations.
- Collaborates with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
- Maintains cloud infrastructures in accordance with best practices and firm security policies.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or related field.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Master Degree degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:Experience in system administration as a subject matter expert in Azure AD/Hybrid, Microsoft Servers, Linux Servers and virtualizationCloud engineering as a subject matter expert in Azure AD/Hybrid, messaging/office 365 and Teams
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA
