Peraton is seeking a Windows/Azure Systems Administrator in Washington DC to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Department of State (DOS) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to provide IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally.
The Windows Services Team provides enterprise level planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and operational support services in several facets of Microsoft technologies. The Sr Systems Administrator will receive guidance from the Windows Support Team lead, Cloud Engineers, Security Operations, and Program Management to support the clientâ€™s Microsoft Azure and Windows environments and software deployment needs. The administrator will deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems in a hybrid on-premises and Azure Cloud datacenters.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
The contractor support shall include, but is not limited to:
â€¢ Deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems in an Azure Cloud environment.
â€¢ Configure and implementing Azure Cloud resources to support new applications
â€¢ Support the migration of existing on-premises data center applications to Azure
â€¢ Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) provisioning templates using Terraforms
â€¢ Implement and control the flow of data to and from Azure, using Azure services
â€¢ Identify appropriate use of Azure operational best practices
â€¢ Utilize scripting languages (PowerShell/VB) to automate system administration tasks and create custom software installations
â€¢ Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Windows Server class systems, workstations, and Office/MS SQL applications
â€¢ Perform imaging of servers utilizing common imaging tools.
â€¢ Perform patching, security hardening, and automated deployments.
â€¢ Perform administrative or engineering tasks within Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange 2016, and SCCM platforms
â€¢ Monitor help desk issues, perform troubleshooting, and issue resolution
â€¢ Support the production of weekly activity reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), software development lifecycle (SDLC) documents and checklists, risk and issues logs, and documentation artifacts.Qualifications:
â€¢ US Citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security Clearance
â€¢ BS degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or related field and 10-12 years experience or MS degree and 8-10 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 14 years experience.
â€¢ 5+ years of experience installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining Windows Server class systems
â€¢ 5+ years of experience utilizing scripting languages (PowerShell/VB)
â€¢ 3+ years of experience provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on Azure
â€¢ Must have experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy Management
â€¢ Knowledge of Azure Cloud Governance principles and best practices
â€¢ Experience scaling an application and/or its hosting environment to support increases in traffic
â€¢ Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
â€¢ Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including provisioning template development and maintenance
â€¢ Experience in Azure Automation and Policy
â€¢ 3+ years of in-depth experience managing and maintaining Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012.
â€¢ Certification in Microsoft technologies or any equivalent combination of training, certification, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
