We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to work alongside technical support staff to administer all aspects of the LAN operating environment for an ARA/Neya business unit. Assists users with day-to-day problems by troubleshooting problems occurring in programs or systems. Operates computer system to diagnose programs; and troubleshoot and test systems.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure
- Analyzes IT infrastructure and system performance to assess operating costs, productivity level, upgrade requirements and other metrics and needs.
- Oversees the facility of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
- Facilitates IT security audits or investigations including CMMC.
- Facilitates migrating Linux machines to a Windows domain joined environment.
- Provide desktop support and technical assistance to end users on a variety of issues on both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Take ownership managing and supporting a small Windows server environment.
- Support and maintain a VMware vSphere and vCenter environment.
- Monitor and manage the IT budget to ensure effective delivery of IT services for the supported ARA division.
- Independently identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
- Troubleshoot PC hardware and software issues.
- Set up and maintain user accounts.
- Manage file, print, and license servers.
- Administer and monitor data backups.
- Monitor and apply security patches and updates promptly.
- Document and maintain IT-related procedures.
- Maintain inventory and licensing records for hardware and software acquisitions.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
- May lead a team supporting a business unit in the future
- Responsibility for budget oversight, management in collaboration with Central IT Manager
- Assists with special projects and assignments as needed.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, or other IT-related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, experience supporting desktops/laptops and servers; specifically, with systems running Windows 10, Server 2012+ on a Windows network, including printers and other peripherals. (Education may be counted in lieu of experience, one year of college is equivalent to two years of experience).
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with Linux operating systems including command line interface (CLI) expertise.
- Experience managing a service center budget.
- Experience supporting a VMware vSphere and vCenter environment.
- Experience supporting an array of applications on Windows operating systems including, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, email, VPN clients, firewalls, disk encryption, and antivirus software.
- Microsoft Active Directory administration experience
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hardware and network problems in virtual and physical environments.
- Must be customer service-focused and have excellent time management skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, proactive, well organized, and have ability to prioritize work.
- Requires ability to:
