Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our Cleared IT Support Team. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing advanced IT infrastructure while leading technical initiatives to support organizational goals. The Senior Systems Administrator will collaborate with network engineers, security teams, and IT specialists to ensure the secure and efficient operation of multi-user computer networks, including WANs and standalone systems.
The ideal candidate will help lead our team in addressing technical challenges, implementing cutting-edge solutions, and driving process improvements. This position involves overseeing server infrastructure, managing complex networking environments, optimizing system performance, and ensuring compliance with security standards. While interaction with end users may occasionally be required, this role emphasizes infrastructure-level expertise and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the administration and optimization of Windows Server and Active Directory environments, including DNS, DHCP, and group policy configuration.
- Oversee and maintain enterprise virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Manage advanced networking configurations, including LAN/WAN, VLANs, and troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
- Implement, monitor, and remediate vulnerabilities using tools like ACAS, EVSS, and HBSS.
- Manage enterprise backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server and related services.
- Develop and enforce security best practices, including compliance with IAVM/STIG requirements in collaboration with ISSOs.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and other scripting languages to improve efficiency.
- Lead technical projects, such as system migrations, upgrades, and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior systems administrators and other IT staff.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Requirements for Position
- Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree OR at least five (5) years of IT or related experience. Special preference for senior systems administration support.
- Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Office Applications Administration
- Active Directory Administration
- Windows 10/11 Administration
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and a strong desire for personal and professional development
- Ability to identify and evaluate trends in industry best practices and policies
- Hands on experience with Network troubleshooting, DNS failures, domain administration

Work Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. The person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. May occasionally need to position self to maintain computers, including under the desks and in the server closet. The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and clients. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these solutions.
