Senior System Analyst- Financials
Seeking a Senior System Analyst required to support and maintain a legacy COBOL mainframe system used for a financial management system. Excellent customer service skills and critical thinking are required to be successful. This candidate must be able to effectively interact with the customer/ user and be able to refer ongoing or unresolved issues to the appropriate technical, analysis, assurance, or engineering support team. Knowledge of VA financial management systems is required. Experience with F845 and F850 reports is preferred.
Location- 100% REMOTE
Responsibilities:
- Provide sustainment support for VA FRS financial reporting system
- Provide expertise with COBOL mainframe support services
- Perform application monitoring across various platforms such as Mainframe, Windows/Linux Servers and Cloud to ensure they are running as scheduled
- Work closely, coordinate and communicate with customers, vendors and trading partners (e.g. commercial vendors, healthcare payers and providers, utility providers), IT and change requestors. Log requests in ServiceNow or other ticketing systems
- Provide support to all client issues and document standard operating procedures according to data requirements. Prepare all documents according to required guidelines, update and create procedures to keep documentation current.
- Support systems providing the F845 and F850 VA financial reports.
- Coordinate activities including on-time delivery, testing and production deployments.
- Participate in change management, disaster recovery and production support operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors and Five (5) years or more experience.
- Must have VA Financial Management System experience.
- 5 years' or more experience in the COBOL Mainframe systems.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
