Staffmark is partnering with a leading aerospace and industrial manufacturer to find a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer. This key role will focus on managing supplier quality, driving performance improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry standards in support of manufacturing operations. Salary: $87,000 - $109,000 (Depending on experience.)
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will manage the supplier quality program, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards. Key responsibilities include performing audits and assessments of supplier processes, leading Supplier Improvement Projects to improve On-Time Delivery (OTD) and reduce costs, and driving root cause analysis using tools like 5-Whys, FMEA, and 8-D. The role also involves managing Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), reviewing purchase orders for technical requirements, and supporting supplier qualification and approval. Additional tasks include developing inspection plans, analyzing product trends, approving First Article Inspections (FAI), applying lean and Six Sigma tools, and conducting quality system audits. The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally to resolve quality issues and support product certifications.
Requirements:
- Expertise in Root Cause Corrective Actions and quality improvement initiatives.
- Proficient with problem-solving tools: 5-Whys, FMEA, 8-D, Pareto, Fault Tree, and Ishikawa diagrams.
- Strong Project Management skills with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Minimum of 8 years in supplier quality management or supply chain improvements, ideally in aerospace or manufacturing.
- Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and familiar with manufacturing/inspection processes (machining, heat treating, anodizing, painting, NDT).
- Experience with flight-critical components/systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of contract flow-downs and aerospace customer requirements (Boeing, Airbus, etc.).
- Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) and experience with lean tools preferred.
- Familiar with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, Nadcap, ISO 9001).
- Ability to create and implement control plans and audit plans.
- Experience with inspection metrology and automated measuring equipment.
- Familiarity with PPAP, PVI (DVI), and FAI per AS9102.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience; ASQ certification preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
