We are looking for a dynamic Senior Superintendent with an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality to join our Project Delivery and Construction team in Leawood, Kansas.
You will lead construction site activities, including oversight of trade partners, and management of daily field operations. We will rely on you for oversight of work progress, subcontractor labor, and coordination between trades. Your focus will ensure subcontractor and vendor work is completed safely and in compliance with the contract documents. You will also collect and assemble on-site testing and inspection reports along with developing construction completion records for close-out documentation which will be turned over to our client and IPS Commissioning/Validation team. We will rely on you to make periodic site inspections, perform evaluations, and report to the project team.
As a member of a collaborative team, you will work with leadership and our construction services team to conduct pre-bid job site visits and participate in scope review/de-scope meetings. You will provide support in the development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans; project scopes of work; budgets; and schedules. You will develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades and identify exceptions to the project budget throughout the execution of the project. As changes are needed, you will develop change control documentation. Additionally, you will ensure that all submittals meet project requirements and are distributed, reviewed, and stored. Other responsibilities will include constructability reviews, evaluation of vendor and subcontractor invoices, and evaluation requests for payment against the project schedule.
As the Senior Superintendent, you will provide daily reports of site conditions and review job safety analysis documentation. You will regularly interact with clients on site, listening to their needs, and positively demonstrating the IPS focus on client experience. You will build strong relationships as you work with clients to provide solutions, all while building life-impacting facilities.

- Experience in a construction superintendent role on large projects with various trades.
- Experience working on MEP systems including but not limited to process piping, mechanical systems, HVAC, and electrical equipment / distribution.
- Experience working directly with clients on site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical, biotech and/or animal health facilities.
Safety
- This position will require the individual to be located near assigned client project sites.
- Overnight travel or staying in the city of Client’s location for an extended period of time is likely.
- You will visit Client sites and will be required to adhere to stated safety rules.
- You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
This position is considered a safety sensitive position. The employee is considered a field contractor supervisor and acts in a supervisory role for field work for IPS employees or subcontractors.
