Haley Ward has an opportunity for a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join the Saco, ME office. Typical projects may include building and equipment foundation design, building design using steel, concrete or wood, bridge design, access platform and tie-off point design. The individual will have opportunities to work and grow in the industrial, commercial, residential, institutional, municipal, and educational sectors. There is also potential growth opportunity for an individual who wants to become a Project Manager.

What you can expect to be doing:
Responsibilities
- Independently, or as part of a project team, plans, performs, and delegates specific portions of a broader assignment.
- Reviews work of others to ensure compliance with applicable codes, best practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
- Supports and leads portions of project teams toward preparation of a professional, economical, and effective set of plans and specifications for each individual project.
- Analyzes technical problems; devises new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions; and communicates those to the Project Manager for approval and implementation.
- Conducts, assigns, and reviews engineering computations supporting project design.
- Writes, assigns, reviews, and approves technical reports.
- Builds working relationships both internally with personnel from other divisions and externally with subconsultants, vendors, etc., as necessary to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements.
- May serve as or oversee on-site project representative at a construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
- Participates in representing the client and the project at regulatory agency hearings or meetings.
What you will need to succeed:
A Senior Structural Project Engineer is expected to work independently and as a team member to apply intense knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of expertise to plan, coordinate, and complete assignments in conformance with schedules in a fast-paced environment. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work results from progressive experience.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in applicable Engineering field from an accredited University,
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of intended practice,
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Sound mathematical skills,
- A working knowledge of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, at a minimum.
- A working knowledge of structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro or Ram Elements.
- A basic knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Valid driver's license & reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree in the area of work specialization,
- Ability to attain, or current Professional Engineering licensure in multiple States,
- Industrial background a plus,
- Willingness to grow into Project Management
A criminal background check and driving record check will be conducted.
