Job Title: Senior Structural Engineering Manager

Established in 2009 in the depth of the Great Recession, William J. Peltier and Associates, Inc. (WJPA) is an award-winning structural engineering consulting firm specializing in assisting commercial and institutional clients deliver ground-breaking projects. WJPA has offices in Metro Atlanta and Washington DC and is licensed in over twenty states in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

WJPA has earned a reputation as a thoughtful, pragmatic design practice. We serve architectural clients, but also work directly with General Contractors and other construction project partners. In addition to traditional structural design, WJPA offers expertise in construction engineering and demolition consulting.

We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Senior Structural Engineering Manager for both our Atlanta and Washington DC offices. The Senior Structural Engineering Manager position is intended to lead a team of engineers and designers with their daily responsibilities in Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Document Production, Contract Administration, Site Observations, and project close-out of building projects of varying size and complexity. Typical project size ranges from <$1 M to $100 M.

SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING MANAGER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Leverage technical expertise to oversee production of building designs and construction documents for portfolio of projects.

· Manage project team to perform contract administration, and to perform site observations, for portfolio of projects.

· Perform quality control reviews of staff work to ensure applicable code requirements and WJPA Standards are met.

· Serve as a mentor to WJPA staff.

· Maintain and develop client relationships to secure new projects.

· Develop proposals and budgets for new projects.

· Manage budget of assigned projects.

· Occasionally travel to visit clients and/or projects.

· Join WJPA as a stakeholder in your professional growth and development.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties:

• Openness to work on varied project assignments, including various project types, structural materials, or geographic locations.
• Ability to manage staff directly, or remotely, as required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Strong “servant” leadership design skills and mentality
• Entrepreneurial mindset
• The ability to secure work in multiple project markets through existing relationships is preferred.
• Other duties as assigned.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE Licensure)
• Structural Engineer (SE Licensure) preferred.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years' engineering experience
• Experience managing and directing junior staff

This is an onsite position located in Lawrenceville, Ga 30046 – with weekly work from home benefits
