Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with 8+ years of experience. They are looking for self-motivated individuals who enjoy challenging projects, working with other engineers in a team environment, and interfacing directly with clients.
Responsibilities
- Self-sufficient engineer capable of landing, executing, and delivering projects with minimal oversight from executive and administrative staff
- Operate as point of contact for major projects and delegate work to other team members as needed.
- Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and code provisions.
- Utilize various engineering related computer software (Ram SS, Risa, Adapt, etc.)
- Prepare engineering documents, details, schedules, and reports as assigned.
- Review drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and architects and recommend necessary changes.
- Research code issues and coordinate with City, State, and County requirements regarding local code requirements and design criteria.
- Explore alternative designs that expand upon established principals of structural engineering.
- Conduct field work/surveys. Coordinate project needs and the scope of work with clients in the field.
- Attend project meetings and collaborate with clients on projects.
Qualifications
• BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis)
• 8+ years of experience
• Experience with RAM, Risa, Adapt, Enercalc and Revit is also a plus
• Strong written and oral communication skills
