- Client Relations: Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Scope Development: Lead efforts to define project scope by interfacing with clients and communicating requirements to designers and engineers.
- Quoting: Obtain quotes for engineering services, equipment, materials, and services.
- Bid Management: Develop bid packages, lead bid meetings, and evaluate bids.
- Documentation: Control and manage documents generated during the project lifecycle.
- Leadership: Serve as the Structural Design Leader on multi-discipline projects.
- Coordination: Work with other disciplines to ensure the lowest total installed cost for projects.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients, vendors, and contractors to gather pertinent design information.
- Design Guidance: Provide detailed guidance and review for design work conducted by team members.
- Field Work: Conduct field inspections, verify existing conditions, and layout new structures for optimal use of space and resources.
- Calculations: Perform necessary calculations and create analysis models to support design work.
- Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to applicable codes and standards.
- Reporting: Complete and submit written technical reports.
- Field Engineering: Provide engineering support during construction and equipment installations.
- Contractor Assistance: Assist contractors with lockout/tagout procedures and permitting.
- Material Expediting: Manage and expedite material orders.
- Coordination: Coordinate activities with maintenance, production, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Installation Review: Review installations to ensure they comply with design documents.
- Client Opportunities: Identify opportunities to assist current clients and develop new client relationships.
- Scope Determination: Collaborate with clients to determine project scope.
- Proposals: Develop estimates and submit proposals for projects within the company's capabilities.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience with industrial projects.
- Proficiency in performing calculations and creating analysis models.
- Experience in pulp and paper mill projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida and/or nearby states with reciprocity.
