We're looking for a Senior Structural Designer skilled in Revit to join our team of experts onsite in Richmond Heights. - Work collaboratively with team members and other design disciplines to create 3D design models and 2D drawings
- Effectively coordinate with architectural drawings and follow engineering instruction, industry guidelines, and RAE standards
- Produce preliminary foundation and framing plans with verbal or written, without detailed redlines
- Gather appropriate details and charts for a project and assemble the structural drawings
- Clearly annotate, dimension, and detail 2D production drawings
- Assist the structural engineering project lead with the management of the BIM workflow
- Initiate communication either written or verbal with outside design consultants requesting additional information or respond to information requests by outside design consultants
- Monitor work progress, anticipate changes or issues, and inform appropriate team members
- Review and provide comments on shop drawing submittals addressing questions on dimensional issues and internal drawing conflicts
- Visit job sites to take field measurements, document existing structural framing, site observation and/or drawing coordination, as needed
- Aid in the generation of drawing production standards, detail standards and plan content standards
- Provide assistance to other designer and drafting personnel to address questions on drawing creation procedures and project related questions on drawing production
- Working experience or degree in related discipline (Design/Drafting, Computer Aided Design/Drafting, BIM technician, Civil etc.)
- At least 10-15 years of building design experience utilizing AutoCAD and Revit
- Working understanding within Revit of the creation and use of families, symbols, detail components, line styles, parameters, view templates, and filters
- Detail-oriented mindset with an understanding of the importance of clear, concise, and consistent model creation and drawing documentation
- Reliability in delivery of excellent construction documents using verbal or written descriptions, without detailed instruction or “redlines”
