The stress engineer that we are seeking will be part of a team that is delivering state of the art solutions in support of the industry's most critical applications. Our quality management system has been tried and tested to meet the stringent requirements of AS9100 certification.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research, analyze, and create structural engineering specifications using various metallic, non-metallic, and composite materials.
- Utilize computer-aided design, mathematical models, and other computer software to formulate, analyze, and modify structures designed to support manufacturing operations.
- Evaluates models to test damage tolerance, durability, and stability to determine structural configurations.
- Lead efforts in documenting performance records, inspecting damaged or malfunctioning products, and writing technical reports or product manuals.
- Support the development of new methods and processes for the business development team
Minimum Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Licensed PE with up to date certification
- Experience in the analysis of complex structures
- Good fundamental knowledge of Aircraft Tooling Structures and Systems
- Thorough understanding of engineering 1st principles and ability to perform hand calculations to sense check
- Detailed understanding of static structural analysis and finite element methods
- Experience and proficiency of at least one modern FEM package
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Successfully passed the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam
Minimum Experience:
- Experience performing stress analysis in a manufacturing environment
- Superior computer skills, with solid experience in CAD, CAM, and FEM
Minimum Requirements:
- Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.
