Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant, your core responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
2. Ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
3. Coordinating with the external auditors, providing all necessary information and addressing their queries.
4. Preparing annual and quarterly statutory filings.
5. Assisting in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
6. Liaising with various stakeholders to gather all necessary data for financial reporting.
7. Providing technical accounting advice to the wider finance team.
8. Supporting the finance team with ad hoc projects and tasks as required.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance accounting.
2. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA would be an advantage.
3. Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts.
4. Profound knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
