Discover your #H2Opportunity **Job Description** AECOM is seeking a Sr Staff Geotechnical Engineer to be located in Phoenix, AZ. With a proud history spanning over 85 years and thousands of successful projects, our expertise in dam and reservoir engineering is unmatched. From feasibility studies to design, construction, and maintenance, we cover every aspect of the process, ensuring the longevity and safety of critical water infrastructure. As part of our team, you'll contribute to our legacy, bringing innovative solutions to life and making a meaningful impact on global water resources. + Conduct construction observations, reporting of daily construction and field operations, lead geotechnical field explorations, collect geotechnical samples, review of Geotechnical data, perform Geotechnical analysis, and report writing + Contribute to draft RFI responses, reports, regulatory agency permits, as well as less complex external and internal documents. + Prepare and review construction and geotechnical documents provided by the contractor + Develop tangible engineering design skills through field experience. This may include construction support (verification of design implementation, adherence to quality, contractor/owner engagement), site inspections, and Geotechnical investigations. Also provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions. + Recognize potential opportunities for additional work within an existing project or for an existing client. + Demonstrate ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues. + Execute project assignments while utilizing critical thinking, engineering procedures to carry out project tasks. + Candidate will have an opportunity to be involved in the construction of in-house designs, which will build on existing client relationships and lead to future projects. + Assisting in project management – tracking scope, schedule and budget **Qualifications** Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience. + Valid drivers license required. Preferred Qualifications: + Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology preferred. + 4 to 7 years of related experience in Geotechnical Engineering projects. + Arizona PE license or ability to obtain Arizona PE license within 6 months + Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools + Experience using geotechnical software. + Solid understanding of field work + The ability to work well within a team **Additional Information** + Relocation is available for this position. + Sponsorship is not available for this position. + Regular Project site travel required for this role as needed. (est. up to 100%) \#LI-EM1 Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
