Senior Staff Accountant - Franklin Street

Franklin Street is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in Tampa, FL.

The ideal candidate must possess 5 years of applicable general accounting experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Public accounting experience and NetSuite Accounting Software experience are strongly preferred. Must be highly proficient in computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Position Overview:

The Senior Staff Accountant will support Franklin Street and our affiliated businesses with accounting services. Successful candidates will be those possessing a background in accounting, strong systems proficiency, and an enthusiasm for customer service.

• Follows in-depth U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to perform a variety of accounting functions for various real estate and related service companies
• Performs monthly journal entries accruals for multiple lines of business
• Prepares general ledger reconciliations
• Performs month-end closing processes
• Processes accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Prepares bank reconciliations
• Responsible for adhering to accounting processes and internal controls
• Communicates daily with management
• Works on special projects and performs other duties as assigned
• Train staff accountants and accounts payable personnel
• Review coding for proper segmentation
• Initiate ACH and wire payments for processing
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 5 years or more of applicable general accounting experience required
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in accounting, business, finance, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university
• Certified Public Accountant designation highly preferred
• High level of proficiency in computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internet / application software is required along with a willingness and ability to learn new software programs
• Public accounting experience preferred
• NetSuite Accounting Software experience strongly preferred
• Broad, in-depth understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Exhibits highly developed written, oral, and presentation skills (English), both in person and over the phone. Ability to communicate with various departments and work in a collaborative manner.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced technology skills to assist with integrations
• Ability to query, manage, comprehend and provide analysis for large data sets and complex business documents, etc. required
• Strong work ethic and the ability to hit set deadlines
• Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment
• Must be highly organized and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to follow direction and work independently with minimal supervision
