We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in the medical industry. This is a permanent role where you will be tasked with overseeing our financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. You will be expected to perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments, and to forecast revenue and expenses.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
2. Utilize Sage Intacct, Great Plains, and other financial software applications to streamline accounting tasks.
3. Maintain and manage fixed assets, including regular audits and updates.
4. Oversee year-end close processes and generate accurate and timely monthly financial reports.
5. Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, including the preparation of journal entries and account analyses.
6. Utilize advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and reporting.
7. Prepare comprehensive financial statements and provide input on financial policies, processes, and procedures.
8. Perform general ledger accounting and financial reporting tasks.
9. Use Microsoft Excel and Workday for financial data analysis and reporting.
10. Perform account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
11. Oversee accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
12. Stay updated with industry changes and advancements in technology to suggest necessary updates to financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the medical industry.
3. Profound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
4. Proven experience with Sage Intacct, Great Plains, Workday, and other financial software applications.
5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and other functions.
6. Experience in preparing financial statements and financial reporting.
7. Strong understanding of ledger operations and account reconciliation.
8. Excellent knowledge of accounts payable and receivable.
9. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
13. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
