Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, providing leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, reviewing entries for accuracy and consistency.
- Month-end Close: Lead month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis, identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and provide actionable insights to management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with department heads to align financial goals with strategic objectives.
- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits, provide documentation and support, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and systems, develop and implement solutions to streamline operations, enhance controls, and improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster professional growth and development.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
